Zen practice is very accessible; it’s not dependent on any special circumstances.
Because of this, practitioners can avoid being noticed by even the emissaries of the kingdom of hell.
When one thought appears, everything appears.
When one thought disappears, everything disappears.
The appearance and disappearance of one thought is the creation and destruction of the whole universe, even life and death.
The teaching phrase,
"If you open your mouth, it’s already a mistake!" points to the mind before name and form.
